Hi there,I couldn't help noticing your post after watching the collaboration. I am not an animator but I am guessing that animation is not easy to learn whether this includes sprites,I don't know but I do know that good animation comes form passion and patience.A few questions first though:
(1)If you are no longer in a collaboration, will you continue animating?
(2)If so,will you be able to think of ideas on your own even though you know it will not be easy and that viewers may criticise you for it?
(3)Will you be proud of your work no matter what the results are and how will you deal with hurtful reviews?
This may look like a quiz but I am no animator so I can't give you real advice.Sprites are still a part of animation and what does not matter is what type of animation will you do but whether you continue animating for the love of it,I say,go ahead as it will always be a learning journey, sprite or not.

(1) Sure, if any of you like my animation skills
(2) I think of my ideas on my own. Does it look like I ask for ideas?
(3) I'm proud if you are, my first sprite flash for super metroid kinda sucked, but I learned to animate better.

I don't care if it's a quiz. You don't need to be an animator to give tips, I need tips! Sprites are animating indeed. Trace a bitmap, take off the color, select which part you are going to use, do the thing every other spriter does (Moving it and taking the others to the new frame) and bam. You got yourself a flash.

Also if you do want to animate you can ask dante if you can join, i'll send you flash so you can get started.

Thanks for posting this.
